BOOM! POW! WHAM!
The sound effects of ACTION

So many great things have been going on these last few weeks that I need to let everyone know that we must continue to act upon our ideas. Ideas and talk are a great starting point, but we must then DO SOMETHING with those thoughts.

What are you doing to make your ideas come to life?

This graphic is spot on when it comes to PBL. The article reminds the reader that like anything in life, it is not all sugar and cream. Sometimes we hit tough spots and things don't go according to plan. Just ask my robotic teams who are ready to chuck their robots against the walls!
"When we imagine school, we imagine sitting in a classroom and listening to the teacher. We recall writing papers and cramming for tests. College has the additional feature of being fun. Not because of the classes, most of whose names we cannot remember, but because of the outside activities and the people we met there.

I have been rejected for two things week that I applied for. Yes, it sucks. Yes, I hate not being accepted. BUT..... It is good for me to step back, check myself, and learn from the setbacks. As this article from MIT about the application process reminded me, things happen for a reason. I still hate being rejected, but now I must up my game to be ready for future endeavors.
"Funded by major CCSS backers the Gates Foundation and Hewlett Foundation,EdReports is organizing "training sessions" to "help" teachers evaluate whether classroom materials are CCSS-aligned."

I have shared these thoughts with many people and here it is again.

I have a Reader Survey that I have put together to help me create and share better content for 2015. I would love it if you took time to fill out the 21 questions. I will randomly select one submission to win a $25 Amazon gift card or a surprise box curated by me!
You have probably already been aware of this if you follow me on Twitter, but I am so excited to move Student Voice to a new level of communication and action. In case you have not see this, check this event out and I am so pumped to rock this event with my Iowa High Five team in Bettendorf. #StuCamp is going ot be a game changer.
