A NEW WAY FORWARD

November is Alzheimer’s Awareness Month, and the numbers are alarming. Not only is it the sixth leading cause of death, but every 67 seconds, someone new in the U.S. develops the disease. For the families left to care for their loved ones, it can be an isolating and frustrating experience. Molly Middleton Meyer lost both parents to Alzheimer's and now her groundbreaking work is bringing hope, peace and happiness to Alzheimer’s patients and their families. "We can’t bring them back but we can go with them," she says. Click here to watch a group of Alzheimer's and dementia patients come alive through poetry. Yes, poetry!

WALLY CLEAVER FINDS A NEW PASSION

Tony Dow, aka Wally Cleaver, is now 68 and a successful sculptor whose work has been shown at the Louvre in Paris. Tony didn't take up art until he was 56 and up for a role in a TV show. "A 28-year-old executive asked, 'Have you ever done comedy before,'" recalls Dow, co-star of one of the most classic TV comedies in history. "Well, I sort of looked at him and I thought, 'Hmmm, maybe it's time to take the art seriously.'" Tony reveals to Growing Bolder whether he sees himself ever returning to television and why he’s fighting so hard to change the stigma surrounding turning 60.
