Christmas: cook, eat, enjoy
We all look forward to Christmas celebrations and our favourite festive dishes. In this newsletter I'd like to acquaint you with some Christmas recipes I've developed, often at the request of clients who have particular dietary requirements. When compiling a recipe I want it to be delicious, tempting and satisfying. I hope you agree that the Christmas dishes on my Nutri Natters blog pass muster be they gluten-or dairy-free, anti-inflammatory or vegetarian. In fact, a number of people have told me they prefer my
gluten-free Christmas pudding because it's light and tastes good.
The traditional Christmas meal of turkey and loads of vegetables is a healthy choice. My blog has some ideas to pep-up
Christmas vegetables, including a celeriac and leek soup.
Cranberry and orange sauce is another seasonal favourite and it couldn't be easier to make. If you or a guest don't eat meat, here's a luxurious
vegetarian roast with a rich gravy.
Edible gifts
People love home made gifts, especially if they are good to eat. Last Christmas my gift-wrapped festive
granola and
choc-nut nibbles went down a storm; friends have already placed their orders for this year!
Give the gift of health
There's still time to order a Nutrimatters gift voucher for a nutrition coaching session. A half-hour "healthy eating MOT" is £40, an hour's consultation is £80 and £185 buys a package of three coaching sessions. You'll receive a gift card to give to your loved one and a handy cotton Nutrimatters fruit and veg bag to give or keep for yourself (while stocks last). Please
contact me by the
5th December if you would like to order a gift voucher in time for Christmas.
Recently I discovered a gorgeous, award-winning range of organic skincare products by a Leicestershire company, Botanicals. I love the fact that the range contains only natural ingredients and no harmful chemicals. My current favourite is their "Beautiful Hands" anti-ageing serum with frankinsence (very appropriate at Christmas!) and rosehip is a nourishing balm for more mature skin. Visit the
Botanicals web site to find out more and to place an order.
Another good place for simple, natural products is the
Natural Dispensary's new-look web site. They sell several excellent toiletry brands that don't contain hormone-disrupting chemicals, including Jason, Green People and Weleda. Use your discount code and make some welcome savings. If you no longer have your code, please
email me and I'll send one by return.
It has been a great pleasure working with many of you in 2014 and I look forward to seeing clients old and new next year. Meanwhile, I wish you a very happy and peaceful Christmas and a healthy New Year,
Rita
