By now, I trust you have heard of the theft of our 11/2 offering from the church building. As always, the church leaders are striving to be transparent in this as in all things. Here's what you should know:
- The protocols that we have in place to safeguard our offering were all followed. While, ideally, funds are never left on-site, they are on occasion. Again, all protocols were followed.
- Because of those protocols, we have photocopies of the entire deposit, both cash and checks. Those have helped us to notify everyone who wrote a check that was part of that offering.
- The Maricopa County Sheriff's Office was notified as soon as we realized it was a theft. They continue to investigate.
- At this point, no one has tried to cash the lost checks. Our insurance company has an open file. If any fraud results from the theft, our policy will cover those charges.
I am grateful for the faithful service of several of our leaders throughout this process, and the graciousness of many of those whose checks were part of the stolen offering. Many, many thanks.
As mentioned in the email earlier this week, we'll certainly have time to talk about this at Sunday's congregational meeting. The finalized 2015 budget is attached for your review. Affirming my ongoing call as pastor of Chalice Christian Church is the other agenda item.
Again, many, many thanks for walking so graciously with your church through this difficult time.
peace--Rev. Abigail

Help out some!
If you'd like to help out with food distribution at Chandler Christian Community Center at 8:30 a.m. on Friday, November 21, let Rev. Abigail know. All ages are welcome.
If you're willing to help give the church a quick clean this weekend, let the office know.
If you'd like to bring something for our congregational Thanksgiving dinner on Sunday, November 23rd following worship, but haven't had a chance to sign up yet, ask Carol Grisez what you can still bring.
Oh--and just for fun! Would you be interested in going to see an Arizona Coyotes game with with friends? (Hockey, for those of you who don't know.) Let Noel Stephens know.
