As I write this, Election Day has just passed.  Your LWV was quite busy this season.  Brief highlights included:
  • Registering voters at area high schools and at the public library
  • Holding two IL 17th District candidate forums (one exclusively for Wilmette Junior High School students and their parents) ........

MONEY IN POLITICS: “CITIZEN KOCH”


 
Have you noticed how much money is spent on election campaigns? Did you see $3.7 billion--likely more-- was spent during this last election cycle?  Join the League of Women Voters of Arlington Heights-Mount Prospect-Buffalo Grove on November 20th as it screens a film that was effectively censored from the public airwaves when public TV officials--in fear of losing the financial backing of major PBS donor.....details here.

New Trier School District 203 Facilities Referendum

At a consensus meeting the Leagues of Women Voters of Glencoe, Glenview, Wilmette and Winnetka-Northfield-Kenilworth voted to support the Referendum.  Find out about our efforts and the wide support and the final tally by clicking here.
 
           

 Wilmette Junior High School Forum
 

In a new event for The League of Women Voters of Wilmette, the League brought the election process to the seventh and eighth grade students and their parents at WJHS.  Find out more about this unique event by clicking here.
 


Stormwater Panel
