A Note from our Artistic Director
 
The first time I looked at a CYT rehearsal calendar I remember thinking, "This isn't enough time to do a show!"  Thankfully, I was next to a very wise woman, Dr. LaForge, who explained to me that CYTs around the U.S. had been doing shows in this format for years. She continued to explain that it is CYT's belief that by rehearsing this way that we leave room for God to do His work and helps us to see His provision when the show comes together. As I participated in my first CYT show I watched God do just that: knit together an amazing production in record time. This experience made me so aware of God's provision, goodness, and grace. Perhaps this is your first production with CYT and you have yet to see God work in a production in this way. Lean on those of us you who have seen God's abundant provision poured out on CYT Santa Cruz time and time again. Walk with us by faith this tech week as we wait expectantly for the amazing ways that God will provide for us and bless this production- He is mighty to save!

I cannot wait to see/hear how God uses Annie Jr. to bless you!

HYPE Happenings!

Hello! You all were absolute visions at the showcase last Thursday! Amazing job all! Thank you to everyone who donated cans to help get our food drive going, and congratulations to those who won prizes! The Just Dance Tournament was a blast! It was great to see everyone who went dance their hearts out, and fight for the title of first place! Tech week is now beginning, which is a stressful time for most, but also a fun time! You are all awesome, and I'll see you during tech week if you're in the show!

The chance to support those in need doesn't stop! HYPE will be collecting canned food at each performance of Annie! Encourage your friends bring something to donate when they come see you perform! It's a great chance to give back to our community.

Class Information

Hey CYT students,

We have a great lineup of classes for Winter! Our Cores include Shakespeare with Mrs. Novak, Teen Core Dance:Shrek with Mr. Marchessault, Teen Core Voice (Theme and teacher TBA!!), and Kids Core Acting:Jack in the Beanstalk with Ms. Torchio!
 
A great Triple Threat class for kids where you have the opportunity to sing dance and act to Tangled with Miss Preston and Mrs. Moose!!!!! And for the younger students, Our Gang:Goldilocks and the Three Bears with Mrs. Oak will get kids to learn to act and be creative!
 
We are also excited to offer a Tech class where you can learn a bit about stage management, lighting, and sound with teachers Skip Epperson, and Jeff Eitzen! Last but certainly not least we will have a class for the Improv Team with Miss Preston, meeting at 6:45, after our regular classes!
 
So don't delay, sign up now!!

Show Parent Information

Cast Parents,
 
A few reminders as we head into Tech week...TOMORROW! 
 
1. We need the cast ready to begin working at 4:30pm! Please prepare accordingly, since parking around Louden Nelson can be tricky. We take especially great care in checking in and out your kids during tech week, due to the "public location". Take a moment to introduce yourself to Christine Rohrkemper, (she'll be the one with the clipboard) to help her get familiar with your family's faces on the first day of tech week!
 
2. Cast should use back door/greenroom entrance (on the park side) to come to rehearsals. During tech week, pick up also happens at that same door. Remember you MUST sign out your actor.
 
3. Your cast member will be working hard this whole week. Please make sure they have plenty of drinking water and food for dinner (if meal was not already ordered).
 
4. Bins! Bring your bins on Monday and plan on leaving them through the show weekend.
 
5. Reminder: Mark all of your child's belongings with their name or initials on it.
