Term 4

DECEMBER UPDATE

Dear ACC community,

A warm welcome to everyone.

Our Centre brings together a diverse range of people, enriching the lives of children and adults of all ages and provides a base where much has been accomplished for our local community. This year has seen our return to 160 High Street and have welcomed both old and new members in a variety of old and new courses. We have been very fortunate to have held  talks and events from various past and present tutors and members such as Shelagh, Jenny, Moira and Echo - as well as involvement from various tutors and volunteers at the Ashburton Festival and local Family Fun Days. Thank you to everyone for your ongoing involvement and engagement. The year has been a fabulous year of activity and the amount of community development and capacity building has been simply exceptional.

Our new Term 1, 2015 brochure is also available for your perusal and can be found at reception or here. The last day for enrollments is Friday this week (5 Dec 2014) and after this date, new inquiries will be accepted. We invite you to 'like' our Facebook Page and join our online community for real time updates and information over the break and we wish you all a safe and relaxing holiday season.

We want to know what you think!

Ashburton Community Centre Survey

We would greatly appreciate if you could complete the survey here to help us to continually improve. It is only 10 questions in length and shouldn't take more than about 5-10 minutes to complete. Thank you in advance!

Ashburton Meats

Lets support our local traders

In 2015 we introduced Kids in the Kitchen with Moira Tobin. A great fun course, and many of the local kids and fmailies have expressed extremely positive feedback - unfortunately food is expensive. It is only through the ongoing support from the ACC community and the team at Ashburton Meats that we have been able to keep this course up and running. We would like to be reciprocal with our support and encourage you to pop into Ashy Meats and check out whats on offer for your Christmas shopping. You may even recognize butcher Paul from the Progress Leader as they recently received one of the industries most converted accolades - the RASV Royal Melbourne Fine Food Award - GOLD MEDAL.
So, thank you Paul, thank you  to all those that have dropped coins into our polka dot piggie, thank you to Moira's sister for the donation of the gorgeous white plates and to everyone who donated Jamie Oliver stickers and crockery. You are part of our not for profit, and making things happen!

Thank you to all our volunteers!!

You are essential to us!!

We have so many fabulous, amazing volunteers currently at the centre and to you, we say a HUGE HUGE HUGE thank you - we simply cannot function effectively without your kind generosity, proactive nature a truly community spirit. We cannot thank you enough - and honestly appreciate all you have given through 2014. YOU ARE AMAZING!

Are you one of the 270+ new members in 2014? If you have just moved into the area, are looking for a volunteer opportunity or have something you can donate or would just like to visit us, we would love to hear from you. Listed below are some of the ways you can help out.

Thank you Ginia for this article from the Senior.
