WOW, I can't believe this is the last breakfast for the year. Hasn't the time gone really fast.

At our December Breakfast we have an awesome speaker Bronwyn Sheehan from The Pyjama Foundation to come and explain about the foundation and some business strategies to help us plan ahead for next year.

PLEASE RSVP to our December HOT Breakfast so we can cater for you. You can choose to pay at the door or pay online, just so we know numbers and we have sufficient seating. Happy for you to text me on 0438 549 998 if you prefer, just need numbers by Thursday lunch time.

Please help support the Toy Drive for the Pyjama Foundation in supplying gifts for teenagers (12-16 years) or bring a gift for a mum to help support a refuge organisation. Our Member Amy Roche has some iTunes Gift Cards (some ideas) at The Good Guys, Morayfield.

This is our Christmas party so dress up and put on your Christmas Hat or Antlers and join in the Christmas spirit on Friday 5th December.  Reminder, there is no January breakfast, our first breakfast in 2015 is Friday 6th February.

Sally Eberhardt is stepping up to be our Marketing & Media Officer on our BPW Caboolture Committee, thanks Sally. If you are a BPW Member and would like to be a Newsletter Sponsor in 2015, please email Sally on sally@earthlinkhandcrafts.com.

Lastly, I sincerely hope you all have a fantastic Christmas and New Year from all of us on the BPW Caboolture Committee.

May the meaning of Christmas
be deeper, its friendships stronger,
and its hopes brighter
as it comes to you
this year.

Merry Christmas

and a Joyous New Year

I look forward to seeing you at our December Breakfast.

Guest Speaker - Bronwyn Sheehan

Bronwyn Sheehan

Founder and Executive Director of The Pyjama Foundation

Bronwyn Sheehan founded The Pyjama Foundation in 2004 to make a positive impact on the lives of our community’s most vulnerable children. A nurse and midwife and business owner, Bronwyn was inspired by the work of Foster Carers. Bronwyn was alarmed at statistics highlighting the poor literacy and numeracy levels of children in care, and determined to find a way to address this issue. This was the beginning of The Pyjama Foundation Love of Learning Program.

The Pyjama Foundation

Australia has 37,000 children in foster care. Studies have shown that children in care are not only subject to a background of trauma and neglect, but are also being left behind by their peers academically.

Bronwyn developed a simple idea that has had huge benefits. Launched as The Pyjama Foundation in 2004, the charity was established to support our foster care children and families. The Pyjama Foundation learning based mentoring program, the Love of Learning Program, involves matching one adult with one child. Known as a Pyjama Angel, the adult visits the child each week in their foster home. They read books aloud, play educational games, and enjoy each other’s company. The volunteers are helping the children develop their learning skills, but perhaps even more importantly they are demonstrating that this child is valued as an individual.

Kimberly James - Investing in Awesome

Kimberly has worked for and with women for almost 25 years, often at their most vulnerable.

During this time, employment along with professional and personal growth, were often the contributing barriers to make it past poverty and into success.

So Kimberly joined with her sister Kirsty (organisational freak) to develop an online video based program so that women could develop skills to assist them in finding their voice.

Finding their voice at work, at home and in the community. Assisting women to progress to be who they want to be.

With modules that include;

Be you ... TODAY
Own your meetings like a Boss
Negotiate like a pro
Find your voice
Public Speaking never killed anyone (it just feels like it)
Be the leader you want to be
Dream big
Feel the fear and do it anyway

Kimberly looks forward to sharing this journey with you.
