Lesson 509: The Last Adam
When Satan and the demons saw Jesus in human flesh, they thought He could be deceived by the same tricks as Adam and Eve and all other humans.
Jesus allowed the test; He experienced temptation just as we do, in order to defeat sin and death. Heb.2:18, 4:15
Jesus faced what Adam faced, and reclaimed what Adam lost. The first Adam was tested in a perfect garden filled with food, and failed. The last Adam (Jesus) was tested while starving in a desert, and won.
Rom.5:12,14,18-19 sin came into the world through one man, and death through sin, and so death spread to all men because all sinned…
Adam was a type of the one who was to come… as one trespass led to condemnation for all men, so one act of righteousness leads to justification and life for all men.
For as by the one man's disobedience the many were made sinners, so by the one man's obedience the many will be made righteous.
About This Series
The goal of this series is to become more useful in serving the Lord Jesus Christ, as an instrument in the Redeemer's hand. The theme verses for the series are Ephesians 4:22-24, Philemon 11, 2 Timothy 2:21
- to put off your old self, which belongs to your former manner of life and is corrupt through deceitful desires, and to be renewed in the spirit of your minds,
- and to put on the new self, created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness.
- Formerly he was useless to you, but now he is indeed useful to you and to me.
- Therefore, if anyone cleanses himself from what is dishonorable, he will be a vessel for honorable use, set apart as holy, useful to the master of the house, ready for every good work.
