Polyteknik have recently installed a Cryofox Discovery 605 SP system, which has been engineered and optimized specifically for high volume QCM production. The system is equipped with dual side sputtering, including the latest Cryofox high performance magnetrons which offer superior film uniformity with high target utilization for both DC & RF sputtering.

Five Cryofox 3” sources are situated at the top and bottom of the process chamber, with the substrate fixture mounted onto the door allowing for rotational movement around the vertical Z-axis. The Discovery 605 SP incorporates the latest Cryosoft3 software platform which offers an easy recipe set-up (with save and load functions), password protected multi-user levels with simple data logging of all process parameters, and remote access for both users and service.

We are very pleased to announce the second successful commissioning of a Cryofox Cluster Tool at NanoSYD, located at the University of Southern Denmark.

The Cryofox Cluster Tool uses a unique cardoid radial transfer mechanism which offers unrivaled accuracy and stability over the more conventional designs available. A video of this unique mechanism can be viewed here:

The advanced multi-chamber deposition system will be used in the research and development of stable organic devices in the form of organic solar cells or light-emitting transistors. It is crucial that the fabrication process is accurately controlled and various layers in the devices (electrodes, interfacial layers, organic active layers) can be deposited in the same high-vacuum system to ensure clean and well-defined interfaces.

The automated cluster deposition system combines thermal evaporation of metals, sputtering of metal-oxides and evaporation of small organic molecules all within the same system, offering the user flexibility and increased throughput of full device fabrication.

Only a few days ago we received the final award of the third UHV4 Cluster Tool after a European Tender. The system is based on the design from previous installed Cluster Tools, but customized to the customer's specific requirements. It consists of two sputtering process chambers for TCO deposition, one with H2O vaporiser, and can be upgraded in the future with the option to add up to three further process chambers.

Polyteknik AS exhibited at the annual Semicon Europa show which was held for the first time in Grenoble, France, one of two locations which will be rotated with Dresden in Germany. SEMI, the organizing body of Semicon Europa, view Grenoble and Dresden as two key strategic locations in Europe, which will provide increased business opportunities for both exhibitors and visitors. During the busy three day event which saw more than 6000 attendees, Polyteknik met several existing customers but also made some exciting new contacts.
