 Creativity. Culture. Community...

Since 1976, the Arts & Humanities Council of Montgomery County has nurtured the spirit of our community by supporting culture locally.

Every year, we provide grants that empower artists, scholars, and cultural institutions, enabling them to meet the special needs of our community.  From putting teaching artists back into classrooms to helping a local dance company purchase new costumes  â€” we are proud to be the #1 supporter of the arts and humanities in Montgomery County.  We know that your children, neighbors, and community rely on the programs and services the nonprofit arts and humanities sector provides.

So much is at stake- that’s why we need your help, today.

If the arts and humanities have made a difference for you or a loved one, please consider donating $10 to our 2015 Annual Fund Campaign.  Your fully tax deductible donation will help us deliver the professional development, grants, and arts education programs that help make communities across Montgomery County wonderful places to live and work.

Every gift, no matter how big or small, makes a difference!

Warmly,

Suzan Jenkins, CEO
Arts & Humanities Council

The Arts and Humanities Council of Montgomery County is planning an exciting new initiative to transform local communities in Wheaton through the arts and humanities. In FY15, The Montgomery County Council and County Executive approved an appropriation of $90,000 to be used to stimulate the Wheaton Arts and Entertainment District. These new grant funds will target artists, scholars, and arts and humanities organizations in Wheaton, MD to support its burgeoning growth as an acclaimed cultural destination. The Arts & Humanities Council is currently exploring a variety of creative placemaking projects that may include live performances and music series, temporary art installations, projects that convert underutilized public and private spaces into sites for arts experiences, and more.

Please join us at one of three scheduled charrettes to join a conversation about how the arts and humanities can be best supported and grown in Wheaton, MD.
