Headed into Orbit!

Wow! It's been a steady climb but we're well on our way to Intercon Orbit. The big news is that LARP signups are now fully open and you can signup for as many LARPs as you can fit in your weekend.

► LARP signups are fully open Monday, December 1st at 7pm EST!

We have room for more LARPs!

We're still interested in bringing more great LARPs to Intercon O. If you see something missing on our schedule, maybe it's a sign you should run a LARP yourself! We appreciate the efforts of our creative and talented GMs to make every Intercon convention a success. And, this year, we have slots on Thursday night and earlier on Friday, too.

We'd love to hear about what you might want to run and we're here to help! Talk to Kim Sward, the Bid Chair, or to our Con Chair, Dave Kapell. Can your LARP help make Intercon O truly out of this world? So, Tell us about your LARP!

Intercon O Pre-Convention

Today, December 1st, is the deadline to bid a panel for the Intercon O Pre-Convention. Do you have an idea for a great panel? Then fill out the Pre-Convention Survey or contact our Pre-Convention Chair, Kristen Patten.

We've already got bids and ideas for some great panels
for the Pre-Convention this year and we're always looking for more people to be a part of them.

Don't forget your hotel room!

How about writing a LARP?

We've still got a few slots in our Intercon O Iron GM competition, where you can test out your LARP writing skills and present them to a great bunch of LARPers. You can try your hand at writing a LARP starting with three secret ingredients and one secret prop. We're betting that you will find this a fun and creative challenge,

A few weekends before Intercon O, you'll be given the secret ingredients then you come up with a 2-hour LARP in 24 hours! Then, a group of Intercon O attendees will play your LARP on Sunday morning. Once that's done, the LARPs will be scored on a number of different criteria and the winning teams will receive fabulous cash prizes and their game will be featured on the NEIL Gamebank website.

For more information, including complete rules, about the competition and how to enter, check out the Intercon O website! You can also drop Viktoriya, our Iron GM chairman, a line.

More ways to keep in touch

Remember, there are lots of social media opportunities to keep in touch with the Intercon LARP community. There is a Facebook group, called Intercon X, started by some Intercon attendees, that is a great way to stay in touch and get news about Intercon conventions and LARPing in general. There is a LiveJournal group and a Twitter feed, too.

(Note that these are not "official" Intercon convention forums but many of us participate regularly, answering questions and the like. Many use these to coordinate rides and hotel rooms, too.)

More LARPs on the Schedule!

We're pleased to announce that we have added more LARPs to the Intercon O schedule. Be sure to check out the list of LARPs and the schedule grid before you make your choice tonight!

► "Tales of Irnh" run by Daniel Zaharopol, Stephanie Davis
► "Reunions" by Sharone Horowit-Hendler
► "Second Hand Spirit Animals: Second Time's the Charm" by Elisa Ford
Check out our schedule!

There are a lot of LARPers!

One of the great things about an Intercon convention is meeting other LARPers and making connections. But, we want to be sure that we give you a great convention, not just a big one.

We've set a cap of 450 attendees this year, which is really limited by the number of LARPs we will have at Intercon O. Should we get more great LARPs, we can increase this number. So, be sure to let anyone know who is still considering attending that we are placing a limit on attendance this year.

We're still discussing our at-the-door policy at this time. We'll update you when we know more.

Can you help Intercon O?

Intercon O runs on volunteer efforts both large and small, before, during and after the convention.

One important job that we are still looking for is the head of Ops for Intercon O. The Ops Head is responsible for making the convention run smoothly, including things like organizing check-in, setting up and tearing down the convention, staffing the Ops Desk throughout the convention and managing material needs like program books and shirts, If you might be interested in this important role, contact our Con Chair, Dave Kapell.

Another key role we're looking for is someone to assist the Iron GM coordinator on the day of the Iron GM competition, Sunday, during the convention. Please contact the Iron GM coordinator, Viktoriya Fuzaylova, if you are interested in helping here.

Of course, we're looking for a number of other positions, large and small, so if you're thinking you might be able to help out before or during the convention, please contact our Con Chair or one of the department heads right away.
Click here to go to the Intercon X Facebook group.
There is an Intercon LiveJournal community, too!
Intercon fans on Twitter follow this feed, too.
