Update from Honduras, 2014

Daniel & Jessie Fox

Can you believe that 2014 is coming to a close!? We have so many things to reflect on from the past year but the most prominent is God's faithfulness: His faithfulness to us and His faithfulness to those we work with! We are humbled to be part of His work in Honduras and we are humbled by how so many of you have joined us in this work. We cannot thank you enough for the love, prayers, and finances that you have so generously showered on us! We hope you will take a few minutes to reflect with us on all that God accomplished through your generosity as you look over the photos below!
Grateful,
D&J&Maya :)
Make a year-end donation to our ministry for the coming year!
Christmas celebrations in the villages and city are some of our favorite memories from the year! In true Honduran fashion, they include a piñata and cake. In true SofL fashion, they are centered around celebrating the birth of our Savior, what a gift! We are sad to be missing the last few celebrations in Honduras, but excited to spend the time with family!
After 2 years of translation, we finally produced a DVD with 44 Bible stories in Honduran Sign Language as told by a Deaf Honduran. It has been so neat to finally get to distribute this resource, the living Word of God in their heart language to the deaf in our villages. Please pray with us that the Word would sink deep into the hearts and minds of the deaf here and that they would fall more in love with Jesus through the understanding of His word! Read more here.
What a privilege it was to baptize Vicenta in October! You may also recognize her in the graduation photo and the girls bible study photo. It has been amazing to see this one make a profession of faith and grow in her walk with Jesus.
This group of deaf began meeting on their own between visits from Signs of Love. They study the Word, pray for one another and provide for needs. It is beautiful to see Timothy 2:2 in action. Read more about it here.
The graduation of these 5 students was something to celebrate indeed! Read more about it here!
Due to the recent rains and flooding it has made getting to the villages a bit more tricky. We are grateful for the extra effort that the families also make to get to the program! This family had to cross this river to get their deaf son Edwin to the program but he had a blast with the piñata celebrating Christmas Honduran style!
"The peace of God stands firm even when the floods of life are rising."
(Photo taken in La Ceiba, Honduras during a recent flood. The wall in the background reads "Peace".) Please pray with us for restoration of the city and the people both physically and spiritually.

"But me he caught --reached all the way from sky to sea; he pulled me out of that ocean of hate, that enemy chaos, the void in which I was drowning. They hit me when I was down, but God stuck by me.
He stood me up on a wide-open field; I stood there saved --surprised to be loved!" (Psalms 18:16-19MSG)
