Thirty ‘Champions’ Needed: Help Grow The Mental Health Peer Workforce
The National Mental Health Commission is supporting a new initiative that will help grow the mental health peer workforce in Australia and is calling for trainers who have a lived experience of mental illness from the perspective of either a consumer or carer.
The Champions of Mental Health Peer Work Initiative provides the opportunity for 30 experienced peer workers and trainers to undertake a recognition programme to become trainers and assessors of the Certificate IV in Mental Health Peer Work. Applications close 9am Monday 8 December 2014.

Canberra: Take advantage of $1200 training subsidies for our December programs!
If you're in ACT construction you may be eligible for up to $1200 in training subsidies from the ACT Training Fund Authority for all our Cert IV programs held in Canberra. However, in 2015 there will be a $100 reduction in the subsidy offered for the Cert IV in Frontline Management and the Cert IV in Training & Assessment - it will go down to $1100 (Cert IV Work Health & Safety stays the same at $1200).
This means that there is a greater incentive to do the 2014 programs - save $100 on the gap payment and start the new year with a new skill set!
