Lesson 490: Stop Blaming God, Pt.1
To grow in holiness and please God, do we have to obey Him? The Bible says Yes.
Where do we get the faith to obey? The desire and the ability? The Bible says from God.
So isn’t it God’s fault if I don’t obey? The Bible says No.
We can’t boast before God if we do well, because God is the source of all good gifts.
Rom.11:36 from him and through him and to him are all things. To him be glory forever.
Adam blamed God for the first sin:
Gen.3:12 [Adam] said, “The woman whom you gave to be with me, she gave me fruit of the tree, and I ate.”
But we can’t blame God for our disobedience.
James 1:13-14 Let no one say when he is tempted, “I am being tempted by God,” for God cannot be tempted with evil, and he himself tempts no one. But each person is tempted when he is lured and enticed by his own desire.
About This Series
The goal of this series is to become more useful in serving the Lord Jesus Christ, as an instrument in the Redeemer's hand. The theme verses for the series are Ephesians 4:22-24, Philemon 11, 2 Timothy 2:21
- to put off your old self, which belongs to your former manner of life and is corrupt through deceitful desires, and to be renewed in the spirit of your minds,
- and to put on the new self, created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness.
- Formerly he was useless to you, but now he is indeed useful to you and to me.
- Therefore, if anyone cleanses himself from what is dishonorable, he will be a vessel for honorable use, set apart as holy, useful to the master of the house, ready for every good work.
