An arch bridge for Godzilla

Kids need critical thinking skills to succeed in school, work – and life. But unfortunately we often neglect their development.

ArchForKids co-founder Janny Gédéon reflects on the value of critical thinking and how to nurture it at home and at school:


According to a recent Wall Street Journal article, jobs that consider critical thinking important have doubled since 2009. What makes these skills so important to employers? Critical thinkers are open to new ideas and perspectives. They are willing to challenge belief systems and investigate contrary evidence. They ask questions and they analyze, using strategies to decipher new meanings. In short: they are active learners. Employers seek employees who never stop learning and are able to analyze a wide range of subjects.

Budding designers, come to Design, Build, Sit: Chair Masters Design Studio. Teens will be challenged to construct life-sized chairs out of cardboard that support their weight. 3 sessions beginning January 5 @ 3:30 pm at the new Teen Space, Queens Central Library.
