Everything is moving along smoothly, and I've enjoyed seeing the project take shape over the past few months. Mainly, I am in the throes of design, copy editing, and back-and-forth with potential manufacturers. As you can imagine, things are moving more slowly than originally planned, especially since I've taken plenty of time to re-evaluate each aspect of the project in light of how huge it has become. That being so, everything I'm doing is dedicated to creating and delivering the best books possible, in as timely a manner as possible.
On that note, I am excited to announce that I will be employing the services of Peachtree Editorial for the final proofreading of the text, and we are determining together how involved they might become in the copy editing process. (I'm handling the first stage of copy editing—making straightforward changes and working with a few editors to develop a style guide to extrapolate—and then I'll hand it off to a team of editors to finish as quickly as possible.) Peachtree has an excellent reputation and is hands down the industry standard for bible proofreading. From an editorial standpoint, the process by which we are revising the ASV is somewhat complex: After updating archaic word-forms, syntax & punctuation, we need to ensure the sense and beauty of the ASV is still intact, and that all of these changes are consistently applied. Peachtree’s will be the final hands through which the edited text will pass, seeing to it that nothing is missed. There’s no one more qualified for the job, and their expertise will be well worth the expense.
Since the last update, I’ve again narrowed the manufacturers to a handful. I can’t publish that list yet because none of them know they’re on the shortlist or who else is there with them, and it’s best to keep it that way while pricing is being negotiated. I've narrowed it down simply by examining samples of their work, making sure that the level of quality I require is nothing less than their standard and not something I'll have to push for. All of these final candidates produce excellent work, so in order to make a decision I've already visited each of their facilities to meet the people behind the beautiful work they do and get a feel for how we'll work together. I'm processing these visits now, and am very close to a final decision. A future update will document my visits, give you a look into how I'm weighing these excellent options and, of course, reveal my final decision.
I want to thank you all for your ongoing patience and encouragement as I continue to adjust to the unforeseen size of Bibliotheca. It’s been quite a leap of the mind from thinking I’d be making around 500 sets, to now, with upwards of 20,000 sets in queue. I now have a good handle on the new state of things, and we're charging forward. I hope to announce a more precise delivery date before the holidays, after I've received more solid estimates for editorial, manufacturing and shipping—each of which will be expedited as much as possible without risking quality. For now, I am still aiming for Spring or Summer of 2015.

Cordially,
