We're on our way!

We're on our way to our Intercon Orbit and all systems are green, across the board. We're coming up on the next step in our journey that you're a part of. It's the next LARP signup period!

► The third LARP signup period is Tuesday, November 25th at 7pm EST!

Remember: we've added a third limited signup period this year. On Tuesday, at 7pm, you'll be able to sign up for another LARP, for a total of three. Next week, on Monday, December 1st, LARP signups will fully open and you can sign up for as many as you can fit into your weekend.

We've made this change to let more people get a chance at up to three LARPs at Intercon O.

Intercon O Pre-Convention

The deadline to bid a panel for the Intercon O Pre-Convention is December 1st. Do you have an idea for a great panel? Then fill out the Pre-Convention Survey or contact our Pre-Convention Chair, Kristen Patten.

We've already got bids and ideas for some great panels
for the Pre-Convention this year and we're always looking for more people to be a part of them.

We're still looking for LARPs!

We still have plenty of room for more LARPs, so if you're a GM with a great LARP, we'd love to have it run at Intercon O. We appreciate the efforts of our creative and talented GMs to make every Intercon convention a success. And, this year, we have even more slots available to run a LARP.

We'd love to hear about what you might want to run and we're here to help! Talk to Kim Sward, the Bid Chair, or to our Con Chair, Dave Kapell. Can your LARP help make Intercon O truly out of this world? So, Tell us about your LARP!

Don't forget your hotel room!

LARP Writing Competition

We've still got room for teams to join our Intercon O Iron GM competition, where you can try your hand at writing a LARP starting with three secret ingredients and one secret prop. We're betting that you will find this a fun and creative challenge,

A few weekends before Intercon O, you'll be given the secret ingredients then you come up with a 2-hour LARP in 24 hours! Then, a group of Intercon O attendees will play your LARP on Sunday morning. Once that's done, the LARPs will be scored on a number of different criteria and the winning teams will receive fabulous cash prizes and their game will be featured on the NEIL Gamebank website.

For more information, including complete rules, about the competition and how to enter, check out the Intercon O website! You can also drop Viktoriya, our Iron GM chairman, a line.

Another way to keep in touch

\
Part of the Intercon experience is meeting and playing with LARPers from all over. Keeping in touch with other LARPers about the convention and other LARP happenings is easy, too.

There are a number of methods over social media to keep in touch with the Intercon LARP community. There is a Facebook group, called Intercon X, started by some Intercon attendees, that is a great way to stay in touch and get news about Intercon conventions and LARPing in general.

(Note that this Facebook group isn't an "official" Intercon convention forum but many of us participate regularly, answering questions and the like.)
Click here to go to the Intercon X Facebook group.
There is an Intercon LiveJournal community, too!
Intercon fans on Twitter follow this feed, too.

Check out our schedule!

It can get crowded up here...

We want to let you know about a difficult decision we've had to make. Our Intercon conventions have become more and more popular over the years and we want to be sure we concentrate on a great convention, not just a big one.

We've set a cap of 450 attendees this year, which is really limited by the number of LARPs we will have at Intercon O. Should we get more great LARPs, we can increase this number. So, be sure to let anyone know who is still considering attending that we are placing a limit on attendance this year.

We're still discussing our at-the-door policy at this time. We'll update you when we know more.

Can you help Intercon O?

\
Intercon O runs on volunteer efforts both large and small, before, during and after the convention.

One important job that we are still looking for is the head of Ops for Intercon O. The Ops Head is responsible for making the convention run smoothly, including things like organizing check-in, setting up and tearing down the convention, staffing the Ops Desk throughout the convention and managing material needs like program books and shirts, If you might be interested in this important role, contact our Con Chair, Dave Kapell.

Another key role we're looking for is someone to assist the Iron GM coordinator on the day of the Iron GM competition, Sunday, during the convention. Please contact the Iron GM coordinator, Viktoriya Fuzaylova, if you are interested in helping here.

Of course, we're looking for a number of other positions, large and small, so if you're thinking you might be able to help out before or during the convention, please contact our Con Chair or one of the department heads right away.
We know it can be a challenge to pack everything  for an Intercon convention. But, it's possible, if you have a few extra suitcases.
