Kids can do the most amazing things! On Friday, November 14, the entire Woodcrest Middle School in Riverside, CA packed meals for the Han-Schneider International Children's Foundation.
More than 200 students from 7th and 8th grade spent the past month raising funds to host a Feeding Children Everywhere packing event. The students raised money through various ways, including yard sales, selling candles and saving their lunch money by packing their own lunch at home. In total, the students raised over $7,000 to pay for the event.
HSICF Director of Operations, Zachary Lopez, was on hand to speak to the children about the food crisis in North Korea and how their event will make a meaningful difference in the lives of hundreds of orphans. "These kids were sincerely interested in hearing about the cause and were so enthusiastic to help others in need. I was truly humbled by their compassionate act."
The 24,678 lentil-based meals, designed by Feeding Children Everywhere, will go out with our next shipment to the North Korea orphans next month.
