The Invest From the Ground Up team is producing a video on how trees benefit California’s communities. Our goal is to use compelling stories from fellow home and business owners to convince other Californian residents to care for their trees and green spaces.
 We need your help to connect with business owners and/or homeowners or others with relevant experience you may know who would be open to talking with us on camera about how trees have improved their lives—their health, their property values or business success.
We're especially interested in before and after stories – stories from people who didn’t think trees would have a positive effect but they did. These are people who may have been afraid that trees, for example, would block their business signs, but found that customers were happy and willing to spend more time and money there. Or residents who hesitated to have trees due to necessary care and watering but found that it requires insignificant amounts of water and time and provided cooling shade and energy savings. Or maybe the trees encouraged their children to go out to play instead of staying indoors with video games. We want to hear real stories from real people about how trees improve their neighborhoods and lives and the future of their communities. 
If you know of business owners or homeowners in California who fit these descriptions, please ask them if they'd be interested in being interviewed for the video. If they are interested, get the best phone number for them, and let them know that a producer will be in touch with them in the next week or so. Then pass their contact information along to investintrees@caufc.org or Nancy or Sonali at 415.479.8733 by June 30th.
