3 Days Left! Fill out the Sharing Project Survey Today!

The Sharing Project, fresh off their successful Indiegogo crowdfunding campaign, is releasing their survey on opportunities for our city’s sharing economy. Chris Diplock, Lead Researcher at the Sharing Project, helped start the Vancouver Tool Library (VTL) after using borrowed tools from his neighbours to finish a project. Now, he and his team are asking you to lend your voice to the dialogue on the future of sharing in Vancouver. The survey is only open until June 19 so take a few minutes now to visit the website and fill it out. Your participation and input is valuable so click over to answer questions about what you’d like to share and with whom. The research findings and recommendations will be revealed late in the summer.

City Commons Update

City Commons is the VTL's inaugural placemaking event happening from July 11-14, 2013 and we need volunteers! Soon, the site program guide will be released to the public. We are excited to reveal the sites that will be receiving some much-needed TLC from dedicated community members. Over the four days in July, volunteers can show up during scheduled times and contribute the skills they have to the projects. Keep an eye on our website and social media for more details in the days to come!

Trout Lake Day

Trout Lake Day - June 23

Our neighbours at the Trout Lake Community Centre are holding their annual Trout Lake Day event on Sunday, June 23rd from 2-6pm. Fun activities for the whole family include live music, dance, theatre, and picnics. At 4pm, they'll be attempting to break a World Record by joining hands around Trout Lake. Check it out!
Member Project

Featured Member Project

VTL member, Ryan W., sent in this picture of one of the dog crates he built for his cocker spaniels, Kingston and Austin. By leveraging his skills as a programmer, he was able to write up a script to calculate the optimal way to make the cuts on each plank of wood. He used a table saw and a drill to complete the project. Kingston and Austin are two lucky pups!
