Dear Moms and Dads
It’s the last week of the 2nd Term. And we would like to take this opportunity to thank you all for all the support that you have given the school over the last term. It’s been a busy term an d a little disruptive with all the building work going on, but that is behind us now and the school is all the better for it. Please have a wonderful holiday with your children and travel safely if you plan to go away. Ingrid and her team will be at school keeping all our Stay and Play children happy and busy during the holidays. Our holiday roster with activities etc for the holiday period will be up in the Stay and Play room tomorrow Wednesday. Please have a read.
Casual holiday care is available at a cost of R30 per morning or R60 full day including lunch if anyone needs it. Please chat to Jane or Ingrid.
DAD’S DAY/SAUSAGE BRAAI
We are looking forward to seeing all our Dads on Friday from 8am until 10.30am when school closes for the holidays. The braais will be hot and ready to use early so please come and help braai the sausage for the children and dads to enjoy at 9.30am when we have snack time. Please, we don’t have rolls, we keep it simple and nibble on the sausage as is!!
Moms, please don’t forget to pack in a pack of sausage. If your child needs to have a particular sausage for dietary reasons, please mark it, as all the sausage is generally braaied and shared throughout the school.

REPORTS AND PARENT MEETINGS
Meeting with the teachers can be organised if you would like to chat about your child’s progress. Please make an appointment with your child’s teacher for this week.
Reports will be handed out on Wednesday.
OPEN DAY EVERY WEDNESDAY AT 9am
Please note any prospective parents wanting to have a look at our wonderful school, can come on a Wednesday at 9am.
FOOD FOR A FRIEND
Every Wednesday we would like to ask if you could provide an extra sandwich, fruit or tinned food item. We take these food stuffs to Rainbow Educare every Thursday. Their children get a rice dish daily, supplied by an NGO, and we would like to add to that.
FOOD/BLANKET DRIVE
We are still collecting tinned food, blankets, warm clothes including baby clothes, beanies and children’s books and toys.
We would like to donate to charities helping those who were wiped out by the recent cold weather, but also for the children and babies at False Bay Hospital who are in desperate need. Thanks!!
THANK YOU
Thanks to the Angelfish parents who provided such delicious goodies for the Cake Sale last week. We had such a nice variety, thanks a million!
STUDENTS
Our 3 students will be back with us for 6 weeks next term. They will be moving around the school to be in each age group. We are excited to see what they have planned for us.

EMOTIONAL LITERACY

Problem solving
This week the teachers will be empowering the children to solve their own problems, by practicing these 4 short steps.
1. Identify the problem

2. Identify the feeling.

3. Think of possible solutions

4. Decide what you are going to do.

*A smile is cheer from you to me,
the cost is nothing it’s given for free.
They console the weary and gladden the sad.
And can make someone happy when they are mad.
Unlike blessings in which we pray
it’s the only thing you keep when you give it away.
