(Re)introducing nomadic membership
After hiatus, entry-level coworking memberships once again available at Sierra Commons

After our recent move, we experimented with eliminating our entry-level nomadic memberships—but the demand for them has driven us to bring them back. So we’re happy to announce that we’re once again offering this affordable option to try out coworking. If you or someone you know needs to get out of the home office, this option may be just the thing.

Join us and tap into Sierra Commons' hive energy with a nomadic membership for only $125/month.

What you get:

  • Amenities of a full office including printer/scanner/fax
  • Fast, redundant internet
  • Two hours per month conference or classroom use
  • Access to business mentors at no charge
  • Mail hold (plus a Nevada City business address)
  • Member discount on all Sierra Commons-produced classes or workshops
  • A great sense of community

Come work with other small businesses, entrepreneurs, and freelancers in a productive, professional and social community space. Schedule a tour before the end of June, and receive a complimentary day of coworking.

Member Buzz
A warm welcome to our newest members: Ann Davis, with AAPA; Barb Anderson (visiting our beautiful region for the month of June); Mark Fogiel, environmental consultant; author Sarah Miller; chef Mikhel Neshat; and Janai Carlson, Peace of Mind Move Managers.

Member Nick Santos, founder of Environmental Consumer, is a newly published author. Look for his contribution in Millennials Speak. Essays on the 21st Century, a crowdsourced and crowdfunded production that offers a snapshot of the ideas and opinions of the global Millennial Generation.

Congratulations to our coworker Samantha Hinrichs, Mud and Pearls. A reporter from a national woman's magazine asked her to put together a chainsaw workshop—in a week's time. The reporter is writing an essay about her chainsaw experience with Mud & Pearls, and it's scheduled to be published in Marie Claire this fall.

Wet n' Wild scene filmed at Sierra Commons. Long-time member Roger Kent recently wrapped up his latest video, shot entirely on location at Sierra Commons. Roger was able to rope in co-workers Mike and Kim to help with the "wet" part of behind-the-scenes production. Take a peek (okay, maybe not so wild, but "wet" starts at 2-minutes in).

Member and journalist Vanessa Richardson has just created a Facebook page for Undercurrent, a scuba diving magazine she writes for.  If you're into scuba as a sport, care about ocean conservation issues, or just want to read steamy tales and tawdry scandals, check out her new FB page, click "like", and share it with your friends. Because that's how we support one another.

Step away from your home office and work beyond the cube. Our workspace is buzzing with movers, shakers, innovators and entrepreneurs. With two levels of monthly membership, and two levels of yearly, we're sure to have a plan that works for you.

Happenings
June 12, 5:30-8 pm: Jumpstart your Startup with Innovate North State
Chico's Innovate North State has an ambitious goal: to make the 530 the most economically competitive non-metro area in the United States by 2017. Jon Gregory and Kevin Kinell will present resources offered to startups & business owners in the 530 area, help connect peer CEOs to entrepreneurs, and share various funding sources available for startup capital or business growth. They will also be discussing the Sierra Nevada Innovation Challenge, an annual conference showcasing the “best of the best” in new product and service innovation. Register online, space is limited.

Finally...

A big thank you to all in the community who came by for the Ignitor grad party—your support is greatly appreciated!

We would also like to extend a special thank you to the students and volunteers who helped make the party a success, with a special nod to grad Kat Alves for helping to make it happen, and to
grad Dominic Schiele and SZABO Winery, who so graciously donated their top-notch vino for our event.

As evidenced, a good time was had by all.
