FLUIDIC - SCULPTURE IN MOTION
The installation was designed and produced by Berlin based design studio WHITEvoid for Hyundai’s Advanced Design Center.
Combining high-power laser projectors, a dynamic point cloud and the interactions of its viewers the WHITEvoid brought the design philosophy of Hyundai to life and transformed it into a vivid organic art experience.
"Fluidic - Sculpture in Motion" is a show of lights, lasers and interactive media.

"FLUIDIC" combines a water pond, 8 high-speed laser projectors, a physical point cloud formed by 12,000 illuminated spheres and the interactions of its visitors to transform Hyundai's design philosophy "Fluidic Sculpture" into a vivid art experience.
Shaped by visitor interaction, flickering molecules of light begin to swarm, aggregate and accumulate. Ever-changing dynamic light sculptures are created, conveying the essence of Hyundais design language:
The inspirational role played by nature and the ability to continuously adapt and evolve.
The particles of the suspended point cloud seem randomly arranged. But were calculated by an algorithm that takes into account the positions and projection angles of 8 laser projectors positioned around the artwork.
This enables the lasers beams to reach all spheres without occlusion even deep inside the arrangement.
The laser lit spheres finally form three-dimensional graphical compositions without any sweet or blind spots. Keeping the same density and intensity the FLUIDIC graphics enable their viewers to observe and interact simultaneously from every point of view.
The installation uses multiple 3D camera tracking systems to sense the positions and gestures of its visitors. FLUIDIC presents a form that is both flexible and solid, a flow with a distinctive profile but in dynamic motion.
