How to Thrive

Yoga of Every Day & Mind Marries Mat with Meg Hutchinson

I wish I had one easy secret that could propel you into perpetual bliss. The not-so-secret reality is, thriving requires commitment and her co-conspirator, consistency. Commitment to wise use of time, to appropriate balance of reflection and action, to practice and to fun.

Musician Meg Hutchinson committed herself to meditation and yoga after coming to grips with a mental illness. She speaks publicly about this often shame-filled topic with poise and passion that seems to emanate from her cells. Meg graciously agreed to co-teach a workshop with me next week before an intimate house concert (see below), Where Mat Marries Mind...more...

In one week, I'm teaming up with one of my idols: musician, poet, mental health advocate and Pranavayu yoga teacher Meg Hutchinson for a workshop marrying movement & meditation.

If you follow my Facebook or Instagram feed (I hope you do! -- they are so fun), you know I'm deep into a 300 hour Yoga Teacher Training with master yoga teacher James Brown. For years, I fretted about which advanced teacher training to take because there are so many good yoga schools, and the commitment is big. In fact, I was a little nervous about this training until the first hour of the first day, when I knew I'd made a great decision. If you have completed or are finishing a 200 hour yoga training, I'd be happy to tell you about my experience with this program (the next round starts August 12th, 2013 at Epic Yoga). Email me.
