Hearts of Hope Spreads Love and Healing in Newtown, Connecticut
Several years ago, my sister-in-law Barbara introduced me to the Hearts of Hope organization in New Jersey. This wonderful non-profit spreads love and healing by having children’s groups and other community members paint ceramic hearts with positive affirmations and simple, but eye-catching designs. They are then distributed to the military, hospitals, cancer centers, and this past Valentine's Day, to the community of Newtown, CT, which was devastated by mass shootings in December of 2012. (Photo above courtesy Hearts of Hope.) To date, Hearts of Hope has distributed more than 34,000 hearts. That’s a lot of love!
I was honored to paint ceramic hearts (see photos) for Newtown this past Valentines Day. My "Peace Heart" (top photo) was featured in a Newtown Bee article and also in an inspiring video. The contributors' painted hearts impacted Newtown so positively that the town established its own chapter of Hearts of Hope -- so the circle of love continues.

My New Acrylic Paintings
My new art website is up, and I'm excited to invite you to check it out. It was a labor of love and very gratifying to see it completed. It was rewarding too, because I recently updated it with 14 new acrylic paintings that I created during the past year. Most are 24" x 24". Prices for these originals start at $350. (Left, "Flowertopia" and "No Place Like Home.") Newsletter subscribers get free shipping. Call 973-949-5187 or email for purchase or more information.
My husband Jim and I created most of the site, and I hired Jena Ardelle, a talented, young photographer to take professional photos of my newest paintings. So glad I did. She was fast, efficient and a pleasure to work with.
