Dear Art Lover and Friend,

Second quarter of 2013 has ended, and with the summer here many excited events happened which I would like to share with you in case you were not able to attend.

Thank you for the continues support.

Florida Fashion Week.

First week of March I was a part of the first Florida Fashion Week, by creating a mural on glass in their event room and doing body painting on some of the models for their night glow show.  Not my usual venue and/or painting surface, but I'm always interested in challenging my creativity.

Hispanicize 2013

"Four renowned muralists of Florida and California are painting "live" in Miami this week with the aim of raising funds for an organization that helps Hispanic children.

This was the first part of the article that appeared on the New Herald in Miami, introducing the art work, the artist and reason of our involvement.

- Technology connects us to the world but it disconnects us from ourselves and from everyone in our immediate surroundings.  In today's society, technology is necessary, I just wish we all learn to find a balance for future generations.  Worst of all is preventing the most complex organ in our body, the brain, to do the most basic functions  "[learn] to retain".  I hope that it would bring us together and help us understand that all of us are multicolor and part of THE HUMAN RACE, no separations, no divisions -

THANK YOU

Nothing BEST than arriving home and finding a pile of Thank You mail from the kids at Clewiston Middle School that I went to visit a few weeks ago. Can't wait to go next year!!!!

"La Casa" Exhibition

The La Casa exhibition celebrated the home in Latin American Art. The exhibition that was held at the Naples Art Association at the von Liebig Art Center highlighted drawings, fiber work, mixed media, paintings, prints, repoussé, retablos and sculpture by twenty-two artists from Latin America including three Naples artists.  Each of the three outstanding Naples artists has received the D’Latinos and Gulfshore Business Magazines’ Face Award for reflecting and celebrating positive values and ethnic and racial diversity within our community. The exhibition featured a major loan of twenty-one works from the Patty and Jay Baker Naples Museum of Art’s Bryna Collection.
