HUD is pleased to announce the addition of a new OneCPD Mailing List to provide information and updates on topics related to the Affordable Care Act (ACA). 

The ACA will expand health coverage to millions of low-income Americans, including low- to extremely-low income individuals and households residing in HUD-funded housing—such as housing funded by the Housing Opportunities for Persons with AIDS (HOPWA) program. This expansion also presents opportunities to improve access to health care and support services for people experiencing homelessness. Finally the ACA offers organizations to access new funding streams for housing and services. improve service coordination, and streamline delivery of services.

Just as importantly, the ACA could bring renewed attention at the state and local level to the problems of homelessness and affordable housing.

The OneCPD ACA Mailing list will provide important information and resources targeted to HOPWA and other HUD grantees, Continuums of Care service providers, and beneficiaries of HUD-funded housing on ACA implementation. ACA enrollment begins on October 1, 2013. HUD therefore recommends you sign up now so not to miss important updates.
