Thanks to everyone who joined us for the second annual SSDN conference in Chattanooga, TN. We enjoyed great conversation, learned from peer presentations, and identified some ways we want to work together in the coming year. Get Involved
There a many ways to get more involved in the work of SSDN, including serving on one of our committees. All of the committees below are open for membership. If you would like to be part of one of the teams below, please let the contact know you are interested by Friday, June 28th. 
  • Mayor's Challenge Working Group, interested in how to replicate Nashville's Mayor's Challenge. Email Laurel Creech at laurel.creech@nashville.gov for more information. 
  • Case Study Working Group, responsible for collecting case studies for both internal and external uses. Email Andrew Orr at andrew.orr@franklintn.gov for more information. 
  • SSDN Communications Working Group, who will design external communications materials for SSDN. Email Paul Young at paul.young@memphistn.gov for more information. 
  • Conference Design Committee, responsible for planning next year's conference. Email Patricia Gomez at gomezp@miamidade.gov for more information. 
  • Steering Committee, responsible for strategic direction and coordination. Email Maggie Ullman at mullman@ashevillenc.gov for more information. SSDN's current co-chairs are Maggie Ullman and David Jones. Jake Tsinger, Peter Nierengarten, Lori Saal, Tobin Fried, Jon Ippel, and Rob Phocas make up the remainder of the current Steering Committee.

SSDN is an unaffiliated peer to peer network that is inclusive of municipal professionals working in the field of sustainability, and effective at networking, best practice sharing, and eventually collaborating together on larger priorities for the region.

We seek to become a network whose priorities are set by network members for network members. The Southeast Network strives to effectively support one another to successfully capture funding opportunities, influence sustainable policies and programs at the local and state levels, and lead the advancement of national sustainability.
