April was incredibly busy for us, Cameron did an excellent job of keeping everything running smoothly and the feedback that we have had from you all has been excellent!

Hamish, who has been with us on a casual basis is striking out on his own after completing his Apprenticeship, we wish him well for the future.

We have a new/second hand loan car available again after the Honda met an untimely end. It is a little Toyota Corolla, great to buzz around town in.

I hope none of you are panicking on tax time which is looming ahead and instead looking forward to nice big cheque's!

Know Your Car - Gearbox and Clutch Problems

There are many signs of a gearbox or clutch problem . Gearbox problems usually present as a bearing noise coming from the gearbox (occasionally this can be a sign of very dirty oil as well). It can also present as the gear stick popping out of gears or not going into one or more gears. Clutch problems can present as a different clutch pedal feel, difficulty changing gears and inability to select gears. Clutch problems can also indicate issues with the fluid, or part of the hydraulic system - also called the clutch master and slave cylinders. The clutch master cylinder converts the pressure caused by you pressing your foot on the clutch to hydraulic pressure which goes to the slave cylinder which moves a bearing in the system enough so that the clutch can be used.

Money Saving Tip

Headlights! We all know that after a long period of time headlights can get that hazy appearance and stops letting as much light through. You can actually buy a restoration kit and we have had great success with these. They usually include a cloth and some solutions to make them look shiny and new again. MUCH cheaper than new headlights, especially if you have a European or vehicle and have to buy the genuine article. Another option is to go second hand. There are a few good wrecking yards around Hobart.
