Market News - June 1

To market, to market we go! June is here and our vendors have a wonderful array of fresh organically-grown produce, delicious prepared foods, ecological meats and seafood, seedlings for your garden (its perfect tomato planting time!) and so much more.

Help us with the purchase of a
new market tent! Our goal is to raise $333.35 by the end of June, and so far we've collected $63.50 in donations. We need only $269.85 more! Our super old, first ever tent tops no longer repel the rain, and the frames are rickety. With new tents we can offer you a more stylin' market snacking ambiance even on a rainy day (we also use them for market guests & forgetful vendors)!! You can deposit a donation at our Market Info Table. Big thanks in advance from us to you!

Hope to see you in the park, RAIN or SHINE!

Welcoming Back…
Healthy Choice Farm (from Brampton) will be bringing onions, green garlic, kale, swiss chard, and spinach. Meet farmers Manmeet and Rupinder.

Introducing…
Fiddlehead Farm (from Demorestville) will have mixed lettuce, baby spinach, and scallions. Stop by and meet their Harvest Manager Jessy.

You can see a full list of our
regular vendors on our website.

Farmer Update
We are awaiting the return of a few more of our farmers. Although there were some warm days early in the season, planting for some farmers has been delayed due to very wet conditions and the season is late by 2-3 weeks. Watch for the return of Potager du Kanada, Fresh Veggies, Country Meadows, and Feast of Fields in the coming weeks. Check us out on Facebook for farmer updates.

Back at the market next week: Manning Canning. Sweet Sammies Ice Cream Sandwich Co. will be back on June 15.

Got a restless (or sleepy!) teenager at home? We'd love their help at the market this summer. We're a fun bunch and there are even some special perks too (think market treats!) Volunteering at the market counts towards school community service hours. Speak to me at the Market Information Table or contact me by email.

Finally, you'll notice that we've changed the format of our e-news so that you can quickly see the weekly market highlights. As always, we welcome your feedback!
