We want to hear from you!

It's time again for the WVIA's annual stakeholder survey and that means your chance to grade our services and tell us what your priorities are for the District. If you haven't filled out a survey yet, please click here and do it online. It takes less than five minutes and the results let us know how we're doing and what issues we need to address moving forward. You will also be entered into a random chance drawing for a $100 gift card to the Glendon Bar & Kitchen. Thank you so much for your time and feedback. Survey link.

Lindbrook-Gayley project

Over the last few weeks you may have noticed a lot of activity on the vacant lot at the corner of Lindbrook Drive and Gayley Avenue. The work is preparation for the construction of a new mixed-use building project that will have 34 residential units above 5,000 sq. ft. of ground floor commercial use. Construction is expected to conclude next Summer. This location is the former site of the Mann National Theater, which closed in 2007.

BID Renewal Update

The Westwood Business Improvement District has cleared the first hurdle on its way toward renewal in 2014. The WVIA has collected enough signatures from property owners to petition the City to renew the BID for another three-year term. The next step is a City-administered election where property owners will have the final vote for renewal. Ballots will be mailed as early as today. We encourage everyone to continue their support by voting YES on the ballot.

Thank you to all of the property owners, merchants, and community members who supported us during the petition process. We look forward to passing the ballot phase and continuing to build on our past successes while working toward a brighter future.

Welcome to Westwood

New businesses opening in the District are always a welcome addition to the Westwood community.

Citibank has recently opened a new flagship branch in Murdock Plaza at 10900 Wilshire Boulevard. Flagship branches are larger and feature "smart banking" technologies, and this is the first such branch on the West Coast. (Above, Sr. VP and Branch Manager James Kim receives congratulations during a ribbon-cutting ceremony.)

Other new additions include:

European Wax Center, 1126 Westwood Blvd.
Mon Amour Cafe, 927 Broxton Ave.
Group Micro Computers, 1036 Broxton Ave.
Glissin, 925 Westwood Blvd.
Bollywood Bites, 1051 Gayley Ave.

If you've noticed a new business open in the District or have information on a new business coming soon, please email us at info@westwoodvillagedistrict.com so we can highlight them in our next newsletter.
