On Essex Mums this month
Hello all, sorry this isn't going out on the first as usual but after the nice weekend we've just had I assumed you'd all be out and about and that you would be more likely to read the newsletter today! Hopefully the sun will stay out now we're entering June and we can get some more meet-ups happening across the county! Lots of new things on the site this month to tel you all about.

Please feel free to use the buttons below to add your own event, business etc:

Barracudas

Barracudas
Barracudas, the activity day camps specialists, have been operating summer camps for 21 years. The camps are for children aged between 4½ to 16 years, run by fantastic and experienced teams who make sure your children always have a brilliant time.

At the day camps children can try new activities, make new friends and most of all have lots of fun! They've got your holiday childcare covered - summer activity holidays that are Ofsted registered, giving parents peace of mind, whilst ensuring maximum FUN for kids!

There are 29 locations across the South East including 6 in Essex! Book online now www.barracudas.co.uk or call 0845 123 5299

Meet-Ups
As the weather starts to get nicer it would be really nice to have more meet-ups organised across the county. We always have lots in the Southend area, and have had a couple of picnics this week but it would be great if there were people in other areas who could take charge of organising things near them. I've asked before and I realise people can be a little shy but in my experience people are often keen to go along to things but a bit hesitant to suggest them themselves, so all it takes is one person who can come up with a few places and dates and I'm sure people will come! Are there any volunteers?

It would mean posting meet-up ideas in
this section which I can then share on facebook too and create events for. Would be lovely if we could have one or two people in each area coming up with some ideas. Let me know if you're interested
!

Activities
There's a brand new section on the site that needs YOUR help! The activities section contains ideas for you to do with your family, and for your kids to do on their own. There are four new sections: recipes, arts and crafts, educational activities and getting active and we need your ideas! Please submit any of your own ideas and activities and if possible include a photo - the more we have the better. And if anyone's interested in being a regular contributor that would be fantastic! All activities can have a little 'about you' section, which is a nice little promotion if you're a local business, so those of you with cooking and crafty enterprises might want to consider it!

Ask the Baby Expert

Ask the Baby Expert is a new section of the forum - come and ask Lisa Clegg author of The Blissful Baby Expert any questions you have regarding dealing with everything baby-related. Whether it's sleepless nights, feeding questions or something you just can't get to the bottom of, come and see what she has to say.

Ask the Teacher

Another helpful new section of the forum is the Ask the Teacher section. Have a question about your child's education? Ask Early Years Professional Kay Fisher and Secondary Teachers Samantha Tyrrell and Kathryn Gorsuch for advice. We are still looking for one or two primary teachers to join our team - ideally one from KS1 and one from KS2, so if you would like to help, please get in touch!

Any business mums out there want to act as our business expert on the forum? Also looking for nurses, health visitors, breastfeeding counsellors, children's psychologists/behaviour specialists but happy to consider anyone!

Find us on Essex Mums

Let me know if you would be interested in a 'Find us on Essex Mums' button to go on your website that would like to the forum post with all the details about you on Essex Mums. This would mean that anyone who wants to comment on how great they are would be able to come on to the forum and tell everyone else about it! Email me if it's something you're interested in and I'll send one over.

Summer Holidays Events
Once again, the summer holidays are nearly upon us (how did that happen?!). We already have a lot of events listed in the Things to Do section but if you have something going on you would like to appear on the site, please send it over to me or click the button at the top of the newsletter to add the event yourself. If you're ready to get planning, why not use our Summer Holidays Planner to keep track of what's going on and when.
