A newsletter regarding the Caire family as they serve God and the Quechua people at Diospi Suyana Hospital in Peru
"Land that drinks in the rain often falling on it and that produces a crop useful for those for whom it is farmed receives the blessing of God."  Hebrews 6:7
Words to ponder during the rainy season as we try to be useful for God's purposes.

Trying during our last

"tri"

Here in language school, where the instruction is organized into three four-month sessions called trimesters, everyone asks you, "What tri are you in?"  We are in the third tri!  "If at first you don't succeed, tri, tri again" has surely been mentioned a million times in the history of the school.

We are still trying... trying to fulfill the Lord's purposes in bringing us here, trying to learn Spanish, trying to enjoy all that Costa Rica has to offer, trying to be faithful blessings to our friends here, trying to educate our kids, trying to communicate with our friends and family back home, trying to just do daily things like get the trash out before the crazy trash guys come at 6:40 a.m., trying to feed our family and clean up afterwards, trying to be patient when life requires it, trying to be thankful, trying to love one another well.

Will is making enormous progress in Spanish and has really upped the intensity level with a translation class and a speaking/ listening route he takes twice a week.  I, Allison, am learning so much while homeschooling the boys, especially about our character.  Annie will be out of school next week and will join in the homeschooling bunch.  Sarah will stay in her 1/2 day school to get more Spanish exposure.

We are really looking forward to coming home for a bit this August and even more, to moving to Peru.  We are always speculating about life in Curahuasi, about what school, work, home, and church will be like.  We can't wait to get there and find out.  Thanks to all of you who are helping us go be a part of this great adventure ahead of us.  Thanks for trying with us.  May God reward you for your prayers, energy, and giving.  We appreciate you.

We love visitors!

The pictures at the top of the newsletter were taken while my dad, Will's brother Sam, my brother Talmadge, his wife Jenna, and "the cousins" Olivia and Augustus came to visit in May.  What a wonderful time to be able to reconnect with them and show them some of the beauty of Costa Rica (as well as some things like no water and expensive groceries!).  Thanks be to God that we have had visitors a few times already.  Some of our dear friends from Corpus Christi, the Motsingers, are coming in July.  Hooray!  It's not too late to book a trip to this amazing country.  It is an easy four-hour flight from Dallas. This is your chance to call a one-of-a-kind jungle/ beach/ rainforest/ adventure vacation a "missionary encouragement trip" and to come to this lovely place with some Spanish-speaking, knowledgeable free tour guides ready to show you around.  We would love to see you.
We're still blogging!  Come see us at cairesinperu.com.
If you make a comment, you might check back later to see if we responded.
We appreciate our blog readers!
Our Facebook friends get plenty of updates and pictures, so "friend" us there if you'd like to see more.
We have bought our tickets to come to Dallas on August 15th.  We plan to spend about three weeks in the States to get our warmer clothes, pack up some home items, and sort out our Peru work visas.  We look forward to seeing many of you!
