Summer is here...

And there is so much yet to do

SMART Construction in Marin
SMART is gearing up to begin construction in Marin in sensitive bayland areas, including Gallinas Creek. We have requested public outreach meetings on their plans for this portion of the project, in light of their earlier work without proper permits. Our letter is posted on our website.
PLEASE send a copy or similar request letter to Regional Water Quality Control Board asking SMART to include the public in their plans before construction begins.

Music CD
Thanks to SFEP, GWC has received a grant to help fund a CD of original music showcasing water, creeks, lakes and oceans. Are you an artist interested in participating? Do you know a musician who would find this inspiring? Please contact us!

Monthly Meeting June 6
The GWC Board meets on the first Thursday of the month at the Community Room on the second floor of the Northgate Mall above the food court. Meetings are from 7 - 9 pm. All are invited and encouraged to attend. We discuss many matters of interest concerning our local area and creeks in general.

We will be
discussing Plan Bay Area, the County's proposed Stream Conservation Area ordinance, and the County's proposed Housing Element. How might these impact Gallinas Creek? We will also be hearing from the committees planning future Creekwalker exhibits, a county-wide watershed forums, and helping to amend the San Rafael general plan to give more emphasis to good watershed planning and concepts. We need your help and expertise!

Happy Summer and See you in the Watershed!

Reflections on Water--Miller Creek by Creekwalker

Curator Needed
The Reflections on Water photo exhibit is looking for a new curator to help find venues for these extraordinary Creekwalker photos. This artwork helps fund GWC's activities and inspires people to treat creeks with awe and respect. All that's needed is a willing heart; we will help you get started and be there along the way. We just need a special team leader--could it be you?

See You at the Fair!
GWC will be at the Marin County Fair on July 3, sharing space with Marin Parks and Open Space. Stop on by and see our educational new Hydrology Model! And if you can help with time in the booth representing GWC, we can get you a pass into the fair. Please contact Russ Greenfield at 578-2580 if you are interested.
