Bonaventure River
Back in the first week of June we loaded the kit into the truck and headed east to experience the pristine clear waters and continuous class I & II rapids of the Bonaventure River in Eastern Quebec. Upon arrival we found out that the water was running at almost 3 times the levels that are good for canoeing so we faced a dilemma of either cutting off 30km of our trip and missing the upper canyon section of the Bonaventure, or breaking from our norm (canoes) and rafting our way down the river. As you can see from the above photo we went with the rafting option. It was a beautiful trip highlighted by a 10km/h flow, endless swifts, C I and C II rapids, stunning campsites and weather better than one could ask for.
Following our on river adventures we had 2 days to tour the stunning Gaspé peninsula with a trip to Percé Rock, a bird watching tour around Bonaventure Island (on which we also saw whales), a couple nights at a wonderful hostel in Gaspé and a day of touring the stunning Forillon National Park.
All said and done it was an incredible journey and we defnitely look forward to venturing east again in 2014. Keep your eyes open for the dates. This is a whitewater / cultural experience you do not want to miss out on!!

Moose River Family Adventure
Our departure on the Moose River Family Adventure is fast approaching. Take a break from those long hard days at the cottage, or escape the hectic city life for 6 days cruising down the Moose River, connecting with your family and nature. This is a great trip for adults and children of all ages. Don't worry about the planning process, you just get yourselves to Cochrane and we'll take care of the rest.
We will visit Gypsum caves, play in the gently flowing water of the Moose River, eat fresh fish, watch Bald Eagles hunt, enjoy two train rides on the famous Polar Bear Express, take a tour of Ontario's oldest English speaking settlement, Moose Factory, and meet some fabulous locals. If we are lucky we may see a Bearded Seal or a Beluga Whale right from our campsite just 7kms from James Bay.
Trip Dates: July 24th - 29th, 2013
