Brighton Cycling progress
Apply for a Grant in 2013: The biggest news though is that our application for grants for up to £2,000 is now open for people and projects with a connection to Aberdeenshire. The deadline is July 31st and we're really hoping to hear from people with great ideas they would like help with in the areas of education, outward bound, the environment and sports. If you know anyone, please do forward this email on to them and suggest they apply.

Investing Jo Walters Trust capital
We've thought long and hard about how to invest the capital that the everyone involved in the trust has worked to raise, and earlier in the year made the decision to invest it with Oikocredit, a microfinance organisation with a very strong reputation. They used the Jo Walters Trust in a report released in April, outlining how people are more willing to invest in charities that are transparent about their investments. We hope you'll read more about the work Oikocredit do and would love to hear your feedback about other investments.

Brighton Cycling Improvements
Since the last newsletter the improvements to the cycle lanes in Brighton the JWT have lobbied for have progressed incredibly fast. There is a detailed explanation with before and after photos here on the website and we're very grateful to all involved in making these happen, particularly Andrew Walters, Peter Mynors, Simon Ames and all the councillors at BHCC..

Bristol Burns Supper
The 2nd year of what we hope will be an annual event, the Burns Supper in the TA centre in Bristol was a great night. Attended by OTC members old and new, and many hangers on, it proved with a bit of help the English can do a pretty good job for Rabbie Burns...OK, yes there were quite a few dodgy Scottish accents. Come and see the kilts in our photos!
