GET IN THE GAME!

Did you know that Buffalo-Niagara is the ninth worst metro region in the nation for housing affordability? Our Annual Kickball tournament is a fundraiser to help support affordable housing in Buffalo's Lower West Side. That's right- you can kick balls for affordable housing!

This year, our 4th Annual Kickball Tournament will be held on Saturday, August 3rd in LaSalle Park from 12:00pm-4:00pm.

This fundraiser will feature local organizations, community members, friends, and family from across Western New York. Teams will compete in our tournament, advancing with each win in the hopes of becoming 2013’s champions. This is our 4th tournament, and we’re looking forward to another exciting game day!

We would love your organization or company to take part in this year’s tournament! Download your registration forms here.

Did we mention there’s a trophy? So get your team together and join us on game day! Don’t forget your cheerleaders- bring your family and friends for support!

Don't want to play? There's other ways to show your support! We're always in need of volunteers to keep score/time, as well as referees. To volunteer, contact us today.

We're also in need of supporters and community members to join us to eat hot dogs! So stop by on Saturday, August 3rd to purchase lunch in support of affordable housing! Invite your friends on Facebook!

CONSTRUCTION TO START AT
192 WHITNEY PLACE!

With construction coming to an end at 330 Prospect Avenue, we will be starting our next gut-rehab this summer.

192 Whitney Place will be restored to a single-family home this year under our Home Ownership Provide Equity (H.O.P.E.) Program. This beautiful 5 bedroom, 2 bathroom home complete with a wrap around porch is already under contract with a first-time homebuyer.

192 Whitney is part of our Whitney Place Properties Initiatives, started in 2009 to fight blight in the community, specifically around the Whitney Place blocks. We look forward to reintroducing this home to the block.

Stay up to date on construction by following us on Facebook!

HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT THE PROPOSED PEACE BRIDGE ACCESS CHANGES?

The New York State Department of Transportation (DOT) is looking for resident input on its proposed plan for Peace Bridge access at Porter Avenue.

The State plans to remove Baird Drive to restore a portion of Front Park and construct a traffic circle on Porter Avenue at 4th Street that will lead to a three lane entrance, as depicted in this map.

Send your feedback to the DOT by July 11th. Comments can be submitted in writing with your contact information and comments and mailed to "NY Gateway Connections Improvement Project, New York State Dept. of Transportation, 100 Seneca Street, Buffalo NY 14203" or email comments to nygateway@dot.ny.gov.

Remember, your opinion of what happens in your neighborhood matters!
