Happy birthday to us! Andrew can't quite believe it's been nine years since he set up Resolve, and the time has flown by. We wouldn’t be here without our amazing team (and our wonderful clients, of course) so we decided to find out what they were up to nine years ago, whilst Andrew was knee-deep in cables and paperwork.

Some other bits and bobs from June

Charity race TEDxSheffield Testing new technology

We were delighted to donate an iPad as the first prize for this year’s Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice Dippy Duck Race at Ponds Forge. Find out more about supporting the Hospice here

The team popped along to TEDxSheffield to hear talks on a variety of topics, from a 15 year old attempting to cure pancreatic cancer, upcycling ‘trash technology’, travelling to every country in the world without flying, and UTC’s exciting plans.

If you didn’t already know, we’re gadget crazy! As Sheffield’s only member of the Apple Consultants Network we were eager to test the latest version of iOS 7 on our iPads. Find out what Pete thought here

Spotlight

We shine the spotlight on our Tim

Tim joined us in 2012 as one of our trusty Helpdesk engineers. Since then we’ve come to realise that as well as being one of the calmest people we’ve ever met (essential when fixing important IT issues), he also has a great selection of chinos and some people (who shall remain nameless) think he looks a bit like Jake Gyllenhaal.

You wouldn’t want to go up against him playing snooker or pool. He’s defeated Neil several times, and as a result we now refer to him as the ‘dark horse’. Of course, if you think you could give Tim a run for his money we'd be more than happy to arrange a match.

What do you like to do in your spare time?
Apart from defeating my colleagues at snooker and pool, I like tinkering with my car and I’m a big movie fan.

Tell us what your favourite gadget is.
This hurts to admit because I'm a huge Android fan, but it's probably the iPad Mini.

What’s been your highlight of 2013 so far?
Passing my Microsoft 70-642 exam was a big achievement!

In honour of our 9th birthday, what were you doing in June 2004?
I was working for a logistics company, organising the delivery of leaflets and junk mail (sorry).

Highlights from this month... it wouldn't be a birthday without some cake; a few people went in search of summer - Ross went to Rome and Emily visited Cuba; Pete and Holly chatted to some nice folk (and admired the latest MacBook Pro) at an Apple business event; Neil was busy doing lots of installs, and got to see lots of the UK in the process; Kyran, our former apprentice turned full-time engineer turned 18 (oh, to be young again); we got through to the next round of the National Apprenticeship Awards.
