Hot off the press: Shkëndijë has now purchased the Van which will be used as an Outreach tool to children in the capital city then beyond! Read below for more details and how you can help.  You can also check out our Praise and Prayer points in relation to the Van outreach project.

SPARK the Urban Outreach

With this new project, Shkëndijë will help to equip the local church, initially in Tirana, in reaching the children beyond their doors, so they can have the opportunity to respond to the Gospel and have on going nurturing. 
Last week we were able to buy the van -(Iveco, Daily 35S12, year 2009 for 5000 GBP). It's had some small repair work and new tyres and  has already been delivered to Ockie who's a Christian and the director of the conversion company in Cambridge. Here the van will undergo a side opening conversion with a drop down stage and an interior transformation. Then it will go to Andrew Challis in Southampton; he’s our AVA expert and will fit the audio and TV equipment and commission it all – a big thanks to all, drivers, fitters, advisers and those praying!

A HUGE Thank you to every one who has donated so far. We are so grateful to God. 
An update on Joe Lyon, the summer volunteer mentioned in our last newsletter; he finished up sponsoring an amazing 44 Van squares through his 1000 mile sponsored bike ride in June.
However we are not quite there yet! A total of 310 squares out of 320 are sponsored, adding up to the grand total of 11'625 GBP, ($18'600*) leaving only 10 squares (375 GBP / $600 @ 1 square = 37.50 GBP / $60). See below.

Other Finance:

We are grateful for a kind one off donation of 3000 GBP that came in and will cover the transport, Import tax and Albanian vehicle documents.

Now that we have the van and are looking at the finer detail which we couldn't be do before, other than the still needed 10 squares = 375 GBP ($600) , to reach the 12'000 ($19'200*) target, we have a short fall to the Van's completion that were not built in to the fundraising target.
One of the big differences is the recommended better AVA equipment. Where we had budgeted for cheaper audio and visual equipment, we have been strongly advised to not cut corners on this vital equipment. This bumps up the amount needed to 2938 GBP. Totaling to 3313 GBP needed this month.
