Tech-Girl Monthly: July 2013

Tech-Girls are in the news at NBC29 & CBS19!
It's been great hanging out with tech-girls at CoderDojo this summer. We learned about circuits and coding while making lots of cool things like electronic & virtual cards, video games & animations programmed in Scratch with controllers to play them using cardboard, aluminum and MaKey MaKeys. Meet Tech-Girl Dot! She was created by Tes Tabilas as our new logo. You can interact with her on Scratch where she will move & talk:

Activities & Events

Live & Local

  • Tech-Girls Monthly Meetups will resume in September. Currently we meetup at Western HS and Computers4Kids. If you are willing to host a meetup at your school or organization, please contact us.
  • October 11 - Day of the Tech-Girl! Plans are in the works for hosting a Women in Tech panel. If you are interested in participating in any way to make this happen, please contact us.
  • October 12 - Charlottesville Mini-Maker Faire. Tech-Girls will be making and sharing Tapetricity cards and MaKey MaKey making. Volunteers needed, please contact us.
