REN 21 “ Global Statues Report”: Global Demand for Renewable Energy Continued to Rise
REN 21 has published 2013 report on Renewables Global Statues. The report highlights remarks on the global demand on Renewable Energy (RE) assuring a steady rise. The new publication also reported that global investments in renewable energy reached $244 billion last year 2012. Notably, the report states an increase in number of countries embracing renewable energy, particularly in the developing world. Among 138 countries with renewables targets or policies in place, two-thirds are in the developing world. Notably, RCREEE contributed in data gathering of the report as Eng. Maged Mahmoud and Mrs. Amel Bida were recognized as lead researchers.

RCREEE Supports Kuwait’s First Energy Efficiency Conference
Kuwait, June 2013, RCREEE participated in the first Kuwait Energy and Efficiency conference which took place at the Hilton Kuwait Resort on 2-4 June 2013. The event aimed at creating a platform for meaningful discussions to establish an effective regulatory framework and energy efficiency strategy in Kuwait. The event discussed a number of issues that included improving energy efficiency in power production, assessing alternative and clean energy solutions such as solar, wind and waste to energy, and the status of these projects in Kuwait. Regional Logo Design Competition - 6th Middle East and North Africa Renewable Energy Conference (MENAREC 6) - Libya 2014
The supreme committee of the 6th Middle East and North Africa Renewable Energy Conference (MENAREC 6) - Libya 2014 announces a competition for designing the new conference logo for the following years. The suggested design shall bring a creative – yet simple - visual image that expresses MENAREC objectives. Libya will host MENAREC 6 in 2014 under the auspices of the Libyan Ministry of Electricity and Renewable Energy. Regional Center for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (RCREEE) invites all young talents from the Arab Region and the Middle East and North Africa to bring their innovative ideas for the Logo Design. The winner shall be awarded a financial award of EUR 700 and his or her name will be announced in the MENAREC 6 official website.
