Our thoughts go out to all Albertans during this challenging time and we hope that those of you who are directly impacted by the floods have alternate accomodations and support.

Assist is fully operational, remotely, without interruption to programs or services. By this message along with website and social media, we remind Alberta lawyers and their families that Assist is there to deal with loss or difficulty, through professional grief counselling, peer support, or other help. Please let us know if Assist may offer further assistance, accomodation, or communications support, either personally or professionally.

In the longer term, Assist will partner with other stakeholders on disaster recovery efforts for the greater community, as appropriate.

In the meantime, please note:-

Alberta Justice says the Calgary Court Centre will be open Monday but that no trials will be held until Thursday. People with scheduled trials can go to the Alberta Justice website for information on rescheduling. The Court of Appeal is closed Monday and there is no timeline as of Sunday for when it will reopen.
