There's no stopping us this August...
Here in Todd we have loads of great music, dancing and more!
Greetings from downtown Todd!
Wow, this coming month is gonna be a BIG one here in Todd! Not even all this rain is gonna keep us down!
It all begins this weekend with the New River Boys making their debut in Cook Park as part of the TCPO's free summer music series! These boys are all ASU grads who have been on the scene in Boone for a few years... but now that they've graduated, they're getting ready to take the world by storm. Their music has been compared with the Avett Brothers and Mumford and Sons with a bit of the Punch Brothers thrown in! I know I'm really looking forward to hearing them! It starts Saturday at 6pm. Come hungry because the TCPO will have grub on the grill for sale too!
Also on Saturday the Todd Ruritan will be selling their famous BarBQue with all the trimmings in the fellowship hall at the South Fork Baptist Church.
Another musical happening this weekend is Blue Bear Mountain's Music Festival. It starts Friday afternoon and lasts all weekend! They have camping available for the festival. Link here for details and a list of bands performing.
Then next week, The Tillers, a band that has performed a few times here in Todd will be making their debut at the Ola Belle Reed Festival in Lansing. They will be playing Friday night (August 9th) at 5pm there... so head on over to Lansing and give 'em some love!
We've got lots more happening the August, Contra Dancing on the 16th, Lizzy Ross on the 17th and then the TCPO's premiere summer event and something that you will surely want to get your tickets to... the 2nd annual Doc Watson Tribute Concert with the Kruger Brothers, Wayne Henderson and Charles Welch. Tickets are just $15 dollars (day of the show $18). Tickets are available here at the Mercantile, the Ashe or Boone Chamber, Appalachian Music, Scott's Guitar, the Riverside Restaurant or Rivergirl ~ Stop by and get yours!
Hope to see you soon in Todd!
