StartUp Health Chief Medical Officer Dr. Howard Krein Visits the ‘Health for Urban Poor Program’ in India

Honored that StartUp Health’s Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Howard Krein, had the opportunity to visit the ‘Health for the Urban Poor’ program in India, which focuses on maternal health, child immunization, and community involvement. Howard was able to learn about the challenges of healthcare in India and the difficulties of getting medical care to inner city and rural slums. In addition, Howard spent time at one of India's busiest domestic violence clinics which is leading the way in identifying and treating domestic violence and abuse. Howard and his wife Ashley accompanied Vice President Biden and Dr. Jill Biden on a tour of Asia and the South Pacific last week. In recent months we have seen a number of innovative startups and health programs emerge from across Asia and plan to engage with entrepreneurs throughout the region as we continue to expand the StartUp Health Academy and Network. Read more about the Urban Poor visit here.
