Rudolf van den Berg is a Dutch director/screenwriter.
Van den Berg has been making films and documentaries for over three decades. His work that has been awarded five times with a Golden Calf has always succeeded in stirring passionate reactions.
His eighth feature film Tirza was released in September 2010. It is a heart-breaking, edgy story of a man in search of his missing daughter. In the desert of Namibia the father will be forced to confront the man who destroyed the life of his favorite child. Just like his 'De Avonden' in 1991 the film was selected as the Dutch entry for the Best Foreign Language Film at the 83rd Academy Awards.
His latest, Süskind, a war story, was released in 2012. Many sales abroad, also in USA.
At this moment several projects are in development or preproduction: DE MAN ZONDER ZIEKTE, SPINOZA, ORESTES, and HAN VAN MEEGEREN.
