I know its not an easy topic to read or talk about, but its critical towards protecting your family. If an injury or illness was to prevent you from earning an income, do you have a rainy day fund put aside to live on? If not, you're not alone. Most people don't. This month, I invited my husband, Dr. Joey Dimerman, an insurance and financial advisor, to share his words of wisdom about ways to keep your family financially protected. Listen in as he explains, in simple terms, how to make sure that your family doesn't do without if you're unable to support them financially.

Over the course of this episode you will learn more about:
  • What events or conditions might prevent one from earning an income?
  • Whether or not most people have a rainy day fund set aside in case this occurs?
  • How else one can plan ahead in the event of an accident or catastrophic illness
  • The probability of someone being so ill or disabled that he or she is unable to earn an income
  • The difference between disability and critical illness insurance
  • What 'return of premium' means and how an insurance policy can also function as forced savings

I will be on CTV Canada AM again in August talking about more back to school stuff.
