Dynamics GP Event Was A Great Success!

Last month, we held one of the largest Microsoft Dynamics GP client events yet, and if you missed it, here are some of the highlights:
  • 50 Tips in 50 Minutes - As with every event, we focused on a variety of topics to appeal to all attendees including the Top 50 Tips in 50 minutes for Dynamics GP focused on tips for using Financials, Distribution, Reporting, System and Integration, and Support and Administration. We also reviewed tips for using Management Reporter, Business Analyzer, and HR and Payroll as well as discussed the latest Dynamics GP Roadmap and Statement of Direction.
  • 3 Slides in 3 Minutes from the Best Dynamics Independent Software Vendors (ISVs) - The Dynamics ERP products have a tremendous platform and of course the Microsoft brand. This is why so many vendors have developed products to integrate and extend the value of the solutions. Check out some of the great add-on tools for GP we featured including BinaryStream, Greenshades, Mekorma, Nolan Business Solutions, Paramount Technologies, and Rockton Software.
  • Sharing Best Practices with Other GP Users - Attendees enjoyed having the opportunity to mix and mingle with other firms to discuss similar challenges and share best practices using Dynamics GP. Nothing is better than learning how someone overcame a problem by using the software.
  • Outstanding Presenters - Once again this year, we featured our knowledgeable staff as presenters including Ron Pederson, Erik Vigesaa, Renee McLain, Kristen Hosman, Tim Jones, Jim Westerman from Microsoft,  and Jack Boyer, President.   We thank them for their valuable insight!
With almost 60 attendees and 13 Boyer staff on hand, everyone had time to network, learn and share best practices. If you weren't able to attend but would like to learn more, click here for the downloadable information.

We look forward to seeing you at our Year-End Client Event in December and thank you again to those who attended and for your loyal business.

GP Tip of the Month - Using Unit Accounts with Variable Allocation Accounts

In Dynamics GP, Unit Accounts can be used to breakdown or allocate costs to a more granular level, which gives management a clearer picture of how various areas of the company are performing.

Frequently, the process for allocations is manual with the calculation done in Excel and manually entered in the General Ledger. Did you know that this process can be automated in Dynamics GP using data in Unit Accounts with Variance Allocation Accounts?  Click here to get all the details.
