Dear <<First Name>>,

I thought today might be a good day to renew our connection.

As an entrepreneurial composer of new music, I try to create bridges between art and society, uniting musicians with unusual audiences.
I’m happy to inform you about three opportunities to collaborate.

I’ve  just returned from Syrious Mission, a music project in a Syrian refugee camp. As we speak, new teams of musicians are traveling to Jordan to work with the refugees. I’m currently writing a method, to stimulate such creative and adventurous missions.

Recently I developed The Air We Breathe, a concept that involves inexperienced singers in a professional vocal performance. We’ve already performed with hundreds of participants in many different locations.

I’ve described my vision on "Art in the World" and asked experts to share their experiences. The result is a publication that gives practical guidelines to any artist who wants to work in the heart of society.

You’ve have been placed on a mailing list with other international people I’ve met recently or in the past.
I hope to bring you a new update several times a year. But if you'd rather not receive any more mail,  please click the "unsubscribe" link at the bottom.

Sincerely yours,
Merlijn Twaalfhoven
Emergency aid for the soul: Syrious Mission brings music to Syrian refugee camp
A friend from UNICEF once called me: "We feed the Syrian children, but they need food for their souls as well. Please come and help us." I decided to go to Syria, and posted a message on Facebook: "Who cares to join me?" A few weeks later, we were a team of 14, involving a total of 500 both Syrian refugee children and local Jordanians in workshops. The results were impressive. Young boys, who at first showed hardly any expression on their face, opened up, participated and finally took the lead in our creative music performances.
Now, the mission turns into a method. We'll share experience, knowledge and seduce other musicians to JUST GO and follow your heart.
How? Please email me, and I'll explain more!
"The Air We Breathe":
Uniting singers of contrasting cultures

I composed "The Air We Breathe" as an homage to the human voice. Professional singers of Bulgarian, Arabic, Classic, Jazz and Folk traditions came together with local choirs, young talent, and children to create a statement of inclusivity, connectedness and beauty.

Art in the World: Bold statement about integrating art in the world around us
The publication  "Art in the World" has been translated into English and is available as a free e-book: Click Here

It shares my experiences on creating art projects under unusual circumstances. In conversations with many like-minded artists, I collected tips and tricks to share with you.
