Summer is upon us!!!

I can't believe it is JUNE already...I hope everyone is enjoying the summer!!!

Welcome to all of our new friends.  We have many new families who have enrolled in our upcoming season of Junior Cotillion and are receiving this newsletter for the first time.
Please know that at any time, you may go into 'update your profile' at the bottom of this page to change which newsletters you receive, and of course unsubscribe if need be.
Every Monday, I send the "Manner Monday" newsletter which highlights a manner for the week.  Please visit 'What is Manner Monday'  for details on how to make the most of the Monday email.
A general information newsletter will be sent periodically with updates on all of our programs.

T
he Newsletter this month is loaded with information.  Please look for the Category headings which may be interest to you and take a couple of minutes to peruse the topics.

Teen Board Ambassador Program
and Student Assistants

Applications are currently available for the Teen Board and Ambassador Program and are due no later than Friday, June 18.

Assistant Applications
will be available once we have all of the Junior Cotillion class registrations confirmed and class assignments made.
To be eligible for the Student Assistant program, potential assistants must have completed the Season Two program and be in High School.
Exceptions may be made for eighth grade applicants who have completed previous Junior Cotillion programs to act as a Junior Assistant for the 5th Grade Program.

Junior Cotillion (5th-8th grades)

Space is still available for many of our 5th-8th grade classes.  We are quickly approaching waiting lists for young ladies in some of the classes.
If you have friends or family who may be interested in participating in the fall, please forward the
registration
information and have them register as soon as possible.  If they would like a formal invitation mailed to them via USPS, please forward their mailing address and I will get one 'in the mail'.

We are currently working on class logistics and assignments.  We will place students together with peers from their same school based on their location preference of Edmond or Oklahoma City.  A detailed class schedule with class assignments and chaperone information will be emailed once we have current registrations confirmed and assignments made.

The Junior Cotillion experience, as you know, allows students to mature in a positive environment.  It allows them to meet friends for junior high and to learn social skills that are beneficial during their teen years.  Each year in Junior Cotillion we build on the previous year as we add to the curriculum.  We have many students who participate each season, from our 5th grade program through our Premiere, High School program.

Cotillion Clothing Exchange

Many of you have asked about a possible clothing exchange.  With growth spurts coming out of nowhere, you may find your child in need of new clothing before they've had an opportunity to make the most their current wardrobe.  We are offering two opportunities for you to donate, trade or sell your gently used Cotillion Clothing.

Opportunity #1.  The first opportunity is the Junior League's 'Remarkable Shop'.  The 'Remarkable Shop' is a resale and consignment store that provides Oklahoma City with affordable clothing and household items.  Donations are provided by the membership of the Junior League of Oklahoma City and the community at large.  If you would like to donate your gently used Cotillion Clothing, and any other items you think would benefit the shop, please do so by July 31.  When dropping off your items, make sure you designate your Cotillion Clothing as such.  After July 31, we will post information in the next newsletter as to whether or not the shop has received Cotillion Clothing and you can make your way down to try on and purchase items for under $10.00.  Please click here for details on the 'Remarkable Shop', it's mission, location and hours.

Opportunity #2.  We have posted a Clothing Exchange Forum on my blog.  You will be able to post gently used Cotillion Clothing as well as review postings for availability.  You will then be able to contact one another to trade, sell or donate the specific items listed.
Instructions for creating an account and logging into the forum are available here:  Instructions

Teen Board Ambassador details and applications are currently available by visiting my blog:  www.CareySueVega.com
Assistant Applications will be available once we have all of the Junior Cotillion class registrations confirmed and their class assignments made.
